Continuing to tidy borders in preparation for spring

General maintenance to pathways and compost bins for example
Why not add some colour to the garden with winter flowering plants? Some examples:
-
Helleborus niger produces lovely white flowers from December to March
-
Mahonia x media 'Charity' has upright yellow flowers throughout winter, which are a valuable nectar source for insects
-
Viburnum tinus 'Gwenllian' produces clusters of pink buds with white flowers
You could also try Cornus alba 'Sibirica' for thickets of attractive red stems
